Question : removing wood stains?
I got flowers from proflowers.com and it came with a red vase which I put on a wooden kitchen table. Somehow the dye leaked and I now have a big red circular stain on the table! How can I get rid of it?? Please help!I don't know, it's my roommate's table. I have to figure something out. :(

Answer #1 Ouch, sorry not enough info to be of any help. Table sealant oil or water based?
How deep did the dye penetrate surface? Easiest solution put another pot over
stain. - answered by Eddie k
Answer #2 Might try an oxygen bleach like Oxyclean. It is water soluble & can be made into
a paste which is applied to stain.Less likely to lighten wood than chlorine
bleach also.Should work since the stain got into the table by moisture from damp
vase. Some theory ,some practice.....Have used it to remove stains from furniture
in need of refinishing. Damage to new finish was not an issue. If the finish was
not damaged by the wet vase & a test patch gets results, go at it a little at a
time.Cheap & worth a shot since stripping & refinishing is worst case
anyhow.Good luck - answered by split dog
Answer #3 I had same problem and emailed proflowers. Attached is an email I got from
proflowers. It doesn't mention wood specifically but you can follow up with
them. As a side note I complained more and got my purchase credited.
=================Dear Brian, Thank you for contacting ProFlowers. Please accept
our most sincere apologies with any inconvenience this may have caused. These
vases were treated with a non-toxic, organic chemical to achieve the red
coloring. The red coloring may be removed from the countertop and table cloth by
using : On formica laminate type surfaces, plastic, marble or synthetic marble,
granite or stone surfaces, use a 1:1 mixture of water and household chlorine
bleach (clorox or sodium hypochlorite) and soak or rub the discolored surface
for a short time until the stain is visibly removed. Then rinse the surface
clean promptly with tap water. The stain should be completely eliminated. In the
event that the 1:1 bleach solution does not completely remove the stain, the
surfaces should not be harmed by using full strength household bleach. On linen
or other fabric surfaces, wash the stained or discolored item in a washing
machine using a combination of detergent and dilute chlorine bleach solution. If
the stain is not completely removed, wash the item again using detergent and, if
necessary, a stronger bleach solution. The vase should be hand washed and
thoroughly dried before using it again. This will remove any additional residue
and prevent the vase from further bleeding. Again, Please accept our apologies
with the vase. Best Regards,Irene CardenasCustomer CareProFlowersThe Art of
