Answer #2 You should prune back to the node before the flower. This will encourage a
fresh spike to grow. If you do nothing, the same spike will continue to
elongate. Depends on if you want a densely packed style plant or one with
fewer, longer tendrils. - answered by pooptanic
Answer #3 Hi Adam, Take off the flowering stalk right down to the bottom. Water every 2
weeks by submerging whole pot in warm water, leave for approx half hour then
lift out and leave to drain. Feed with orchid fertiliser every month (just add
to water) and mist plant. I am assuming you have a Phalaenopsis ( moth orchid)
so dont worry if roots grow over side of pot, they like being pot bound. Plenty
of light required, not direct sunlight. This type will soon throw up a new
flowering stalk. If you have a Cymbidium same applies but they need a short
rest period (little water, no feed in autumn). If you have trouble identifying
your orchid, give me a description and I should be able to tell you which one it
is as there are quite a few. These two are the most popular. cheers - answered by pendelli
Answer #4 Hello Adam, I don't know how anyone can answer this question with the
information you have given. There are around 760 genera, and 17,700 species! And
they are divided into terrestrial and epiphytic plants!Instead of assuming
anything, I would advise you to get onto an Orchid society and get the
information from their pages. x - answered by Riskyt69
