Question : What is a floweret? Can it be used to mean "small flower"?
I would like to find a classy-sounding phrase that means "small white flowers." Could I say "white flowerets"? In looking online, it sounds like "flowerets" is usually used to refer to little tiny flowers that make up a larger flower, such as a head of broccoli. But can "flowerets" also be used to refer to little flowers found in fields? If not, what's a better word? Thanks!

Answer #1 The tiny flowers that make up larger flowers (like daisies) are usually known as
florets. When "flowerets" is used for broccoli it usually means one of the
small, stalked units of the head ... if you let the head flower, that unit would
be a bunch of flowers, not a single small one.Not sure that I can think of a
"classy-sounding" term for small white flowers. - answered by myrtguy
