Question : My boss got a beautiful flower arrangement the other day, but it's loaded with lilies and I am allergic.?
What is a nice way to ask her to get rid of it without offending her? Or should I just tough it out? HELP!

All Answers:
Answer #1 tell her about your allergy. ask her if she can move them somewhere else or take
them home. if you keep sneezing all day that will be disruptive to your work. - answered by niecy
Answer #2 Can the arrangement be moved to a location where the flowers won't bother you?If
not, tell your boss that you're allergic and maybe she can take the flowers home
where she can enjoy them without any trouble. - answered by Mary B
Answer #3 I'd suggest taking allergy pills for a few days if you have any. If not, I'm
sure she wouldn't be offended if you just tell her that you're allergic, since
you're not really saying anything bad about her as a person. I'd understand if
someone (might I mention) *politely asked* me to move a plant or take a pet
outside because that person's allergic. - answered by rosemary
Answer #4 I think lilies tend to last pretty long after they've been picked, not like
roses which only last a week, so if you're going to tough it out, you'll be
toughing it for a couple weeks. Maybe you should try over-the-counter allergy
medication first, and if it doesn't help, just ask your boss to move it. She
shouldn't be too offended if you explain why. - answered by Jen
Answer #5 just tell her about your allergies. she should understand - answered by CutiePie
Answer #6 It might be sensible to avoid that flower arrangement or at least to take sick
leave before you ruin yourself and your work performances in front of her. - answered by michael2003c2003
Answer #7 she shouldn't have to get rid of the flower arrangement just because your
allergic to it, you should take an allergy med that doesn't make you sleepy. as
for your boss you would offend her afterall the flowers were given to her and
she is your boss, your not the boss of her. - answered by rose bud
Answer #8 You can actually remove the parts that are causing your allergies. It's usually
the pollen that's bothersome. It grows on the anthers. Dampen a tissue with
water and use it to pinch the anthers and pull the pollen off (be careful not to
get the pollen on you -- it sticks and it stains clothing). Here is a great
diagram of the parts of a lily. Good luck! - answered by Shibi
Answer #9 Thank him for the gift. Next time when you get to talk to him tell him that you
are grateful for the gift but that you are allergic to that kind of flower. - answered by Art The Wise
Answer #10 I think Shibi's suggestion is very sensible. - answered by mikayla_starstuff
Answer #11 Stay away from the flowers. - answered by brevejunkie
