Question : What are some good flowers that I can plant and use to cut and put in vases?
I am looking for some suggestions on cut flowers that I can plant in the south west florida area - I don't want roses. I would also want to know if your suggestion is one that will grow year around or not and if it comes back year after year or not. Thanks!!

Answer #5 Perennials are the way to go, but annuals can add extra color to your
bouquets.Lillies come up every year and are easy to grow.Bellflowers, asters,
and larkspur are good flowers for vases.Yarrow comes up every year, as do
daisies. Check out Better homes and Gardens website and go to House and Home.

Answer #6 Zinnias come in all sizes and colors. They stay fresh in water a long time and
are easy to grow. They don't grow year after year, but when you let the flower
die on the stem outside, just pull the head off. It contains the seeds and you
can plant them the following season. You will never have to buy zinnia seeds
again. Same goes for marigolds. - answered by krisjb1
Answer #7 What do you like? Roses can grow all year round, and comes in long and short
stems, easy to plant and maintain. Go for the long stem, large petal flowers
such as Geberas. Carnations are really abundant for your yard and vases. They
always regrow flowers, for nearly all seasons except for the cold winter. You
could even go for sunflowers, they're huge, and looks so cool even from 300
meters aways from your house. Peonies would be a better substitute for tulips.
Tulips blooms once, and you can only cut it once. There's plenty of those large
petal flowers you can get from home depot, seeds or plants, or target, walmart,
etc. - answered by Nuge
Answer #8 Zinnias are awesome. They're inexpensive to buy as seeds, they come up in all
sorts of yellows reds and oranges and pinks, then when you've cut them and they
finish blooming, throw the seed heads back in your garden, and they throw up
another batch of zinnias in the spring. I use them at my home and at the
office. - answered by Mark L
