Question : GIRLS, ok if GUY friend gives you FLOWERS for your birthday?
sweet or awkward? if guy actually has crush but girl doesn't know; flower given among other things like shirt, cake; would you think the guy likes you? in general, what'd you like for your birthday from a guy friend, supposedly platonic?

occassions.

I think it IS possible that he means it in a friendly way, but not likely. Guys
tend not to be that way toward someone they think of as a friend. It also
depends on what kind of flowers too.

If I got flowers from a guy for my birthday, I'd definitely think they had a
crush on me. From a friend with whom the relationship is strictly platonic, I'd
want something like a CD, or a gift card, or something lame and silly. (Think
dollar store: Play-doh, straw spoons, bubble kits) But, I'm a 16 year old girl-
I don't know the ages or particulars of your situation.

If I got flowers for my birthday from a guy friend(which I have) I would think
of it as a very sweet ,thoughtful present.If he likes you more then a friend you
would just know. Flowers(and diamonds) lol are a girls best friend after all.

in my opinion, it is sweet, meaning he is truly your friend who wants you to be
happy and enjoy your birthday. but it depends on what kind of flower it is. if
he gives you something of your favorite kind, that's fine, but if he gives you
roses and with those meaning attach to it, like single or three red rose, that
means he loves you. so better watch out.when my best friend remember that my
favorite flower is daisy, he gave me that while we are on vacation, and i still
cherish the thoughts up to this day. he usually give me cd, shirts, books, dvd
movies, hair accessories and the most memorable is our friendship ring. what a
guy and i love him dearly...

They're fine. Just be sure to ask the florist for a small, simple vase of
flowers that in no way sends the message of romantic intentions. Maybe in the
Get Well Soon or Best Wishes aisle.
