Question: Cut flowers and potted plants suck the oxygen from sickrooms!?

Question : Cut flowers and potted plants suck the oxygen from sickrooms!?

- asked by ash

All Answers:
Answer #1
Nope. From what I understand they take CO2 - carbon dioxide out of the air and replace it with O2 - oxygen.

Answer #2
Plants take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen, so they'd actually increase the oxygen in the room, providing they're alive and going through photosynthesis.

Answer #3
Cut flowers might but potted plants give off oxygen as part of photosynthesis. They don't want them because of the dirt nothing to do with oxygen.

Answer #4
no, they add oxygen to the air. I think that one reason that sometimes plants are prohibited from a sickroom is that there may be mold in the soil, or pollen from flowers. If a person has allergies, it would make them feel worse.
