Answer #3 The water should be clear and preferably clean rainwater. Water plants when they
become slightly dry, usually about one or two times a week, less in cold wet
weather and a little more often in summer. You can lift the pot to see if it is
retaining water, it will be heavy if it has too much. Avoid saucers that fill
up and retain moisture or you can rot the roots. The most commonly used method
of propagating orchids is through division. This is one of the simplest methods
of producing more plants of the same variety or species. Division simply means
splitting the plant into two or more parts each with at least one new shoot and
each will produce a fully grown mostly flowering size plant that is capable of
flowering the following season.A mixture of fine fir bark mixed with redwood
compost and allows for good drainage and retains moisture is what orchids
require. - answered by freakiecatsmom

Answer #5 WHy would you put PAINT water on an orchid??? FIRST find out what type of orchid
you have. you need to buy an soil mix for orchids, they sell them in bags. Repot
the plant, then add a food supplement for the type of orchid you own. there is a
different type of food you feed it when its dormant and when it flowers. if its
cymbidium they can do well outside but it has to be placed in a east facing
area( meaning it faces the direction where the sun rises so that it wont get too
much heat in the middle of the day.orchids also like crowded living conditions,
so try putting a few of the clusters together in a pot. - answered by mar
